Surf foiling takes traditional wave riding and adds a whole new dimension. Instead of riding only on the surface, a hydrofoil lifts your board above the water once you catch a wave, allowing you to glide smoothly and connect multiple waves while tapping into energy that’s normally un-surfable. It opens up smaller days, new breaks, and conditions that wouldn’t typically deliver a good session on a traditional board. Intro to Surf foiling Lesson

$300 – 2hr

New to Foiling? Not sure where to start? This intro lesson is your ticket to ride! This 2hr Jet ski supported experience is aimed to help you lay your baseline foil skills. We will focus on equipment setup, handling, and baseline riding technique. This is a great opprotinity to “dip your toes” and see if surf foiling, or foiling in general, is for you!

My name is Daniel Ware — founder and head coach here at Glide. I’m stoked to bring these new foil disciplines home to Charleston and show people how these sports simply get you more days on the water. My passion for foiling was born from my years of surfing and becoming frustrated with smaller days, blown-out conditions, or simply the lack of conditions to ride at all. Foiling has totally unlocked so many more days on the water for me and created so many new ways to get out there. Daniel is the guy if your kid wants to learn to foil. My 13-year-old son saw someone pumping by on a foil and immediately said, “That’s what I wanna do.” Daniel made that dream possible.

I spent a few days training with Daniel, and it was one of the most valuable experiences I’ve had in my foiling journey. He towed me via jet ski to help me get the feel for the foil, and we focused on SUP foiling as the foundation to build into other disciplines like paddle starts and downwinding. His approach is super thoughtful, he breaks things down technically while keeping it fun and encouraging. Daniel really understands how to tailor the sessions to your level and long-term goals. He also gave me great guidance on gear choices to support my progression, which was a huge bonus. I left feeling much more confident and motivated to keep progressing. Highly recommend training with him if you’re serious about learning to foil the right way! I plan to get back soon!

Thanks to Daniel, I can finally ride swells! He helped me understand pumping technique and also how to read the water. He was patient and obviously knowledgeable, and broke everything down in a way that made it all click for me. If you want to take your winging to the next level, I highly recommend Daniel.
